The Buckingham Palace

The Buckingham palace is the official London Residence and the administrative Headquarters of the British Monarch. The Royal residence has 775 rooms which includes 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and Guest bedrooms, 92 offices, 188 Staff Bedrooms and 78 Bathrooms.

Many official events and ceremonies take place in the Palace but the State Rooms are opened to visitors every year. The state rooms in the Palace are used by the Queen and the Royal family members to treat and entertain their guests on official occasions and ceremonies. The Queen’s Gallery exhibits the royal collections and it is open to the public.

Changing the Guard is one of the famous events at the Buckingham Palace, where the Queen’s Guards march to the palace from Wellington barracks. Investitures, State Banquets and other ceremonies take place in the Ballroom which is the largest room in Buckingham palace. The Palace Garden situated to the west of Buckingham Palace occupies 42 acres and it is open to the public during August and September.

The Picture gallery at Buckingham Palace was designed by John Nash and this state room displays the paintings of the royal collection. During the summer, you can enjoy eating at the Garden Cafe on your exit from the palace. You can buy exclusive home wears, accessories, clothing, jewellery, toys and books at the Garden Shop. You can also visit the State rooms during summer.
